I am a second year MFA student studying at Parsons The New School for Design. During my time at Parsons I have developed my painting style to include sculptural elements on the canvas. My paintings are created through found objects that allow me to be tactile and playful. I enjoy using industrial materials to create my compositions. In my most recent piece titled, "Unfit for Human Consumption." I successfully intergraded my materials in a fashion that allows them to convey a playful yet toxic image. While creating this piece, I wanted to breakdown my painting process. I started simple with my painting/drawing, then adding materials as color, which helped me with form. I was able to then set boundaries, and rules for my work. 2007 |
