Lisa Fernandez, Principal of The Magnet School of Global and Ethical Studies statement.

P.S. 119 is a community that educates for a culture of peace and understanding. Our community is committed to teaching every child utilizing a holistic approach. Our goal is to create well-rounded, socially aware students who have an enthusiasm for learning, pride of accomplishments, self-discipline, self-esteem, and consideration for the ideas and values of others. Educating for a culture of peace and understanding is being stressed throughout the school community. Working together to believe and achieve is the global idea for our school. We are a community that thinks globally and acts locally.

P.S. 119 is located in Midwood, Brooklyn, New York City.

The BRIC Contemporary Art Education program introduces Brooklyn students to contemporary art through in-school art residencies and professional development opportunities for parents, teachers and administrators. We also provide professional development roundtables focused on capacity building with arts professionals from all over the State of New York. BRIC Contemporary Art is the visual arts program of BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn, a multidisciplinary arts and media nonprofit dedicated to presenting visual, performing and media arts programs that are reflective of Brooklynís diverse communities and to supporting the creative process.
